Mr. KRS Jamwal
Chairman of the Board of Directors
KRS Jamwal is executive director, Tata Industries, and is responsible for the incubation of new ventures, as well as investments made by Tata Industries in new businesses and start-ups.
Mr. Jamwal is on the board of three other Tata companies, viz. Advinus Therapeutics, where he serves as Chairman of the Board, Tata Advanced Materials, and Tata UniStore (formerly Tata Industrial Services). He is also a member on the board of Flisom AG and Apex Investments (Mauritius) Holding.
His previous assignment was as Vice President, Strategy, Group Corporate Centre, Tata Sons. His role involved assisting Ratan Tata, then Chairman of Tata Sons, on strategy-related matters concerning Tata companies, and supporting him on special assignments such as the Investment Commission (2005-2009) and the US-India and UK-India CEO Forums.
Mr. Jamwal started his career with TAS (formerly known as Tata Administrative Service) in 1989. His initial assignments included project management for setting up new hotels and flight catering units, with subsequent responsibilities relating to strategic planning and mergers and acquisitions for the Taj Group of hotels. He has a bachelor’s degree in technology in petroleum engineering from the Indian School of Mines, Dhanbad, and was awarded the scholastic gold medal and the best student shield. His post graduation is in management from the Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad, where he was awarded the scholastic gold medal and the KV Srinivas Award for the best all-rounder.
Dr. Kasim A. Mookhtiar
Dr. Kasim A. Mookhtiar, Managing Director, is also a co-founder of Advinus Therapeutics Ltd. Prior to co-founding Advinus, he was Vice President, New Drug Discovery Research, at Ranbaxy Laboratories Limited, where he led a team of over 200 scientists from multiple disciplines.
After completing a 5-year integrated MS in Chemistry at the Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay, where he worked in Synthetic Organic Chemistry, Kasim pursued a PhD with Professor H. E. Van Wart at the Institute of Molecular Biophysics, Florida State University, Tallahassee, Florida, USA. His graduate work encompassed biochemistry, protein chemistry, enzyme kinetics and inhibition. Kasim followed up his graduate work with a postdoctoral stint at Yale University School of Medicine, where he learned molecular biology and structural biology (2D NMR).
He joined the Metabolic Diseases Drug Discovery group at the Bristol-Myers Squibb Pharmaceutical Research Institute in Princeton, NJ, USA, where he worked from1992 to 2003. Early in his career he pioneered of the Diabetes and Obesity programs at BMS and was then entrusted with the task of forming the Department of Aging Research in Drug Discovery, a very novel and cutting edge area for both basic and applied research. He was responsible for the strategic planning of this area and was also involved in numerous strategic efforts in the wider BMS activities.
Mr. Dipak Ghose
Mr. Ghose has been a Managing Consultant in Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu India Pvt Ltd since 2006. His area of work includes Enterprise Risk Management, Internal Controls and Compliance framework including legal requirements. He has been actively involved in the setting up and maintenance of Centre for Corporate Governance of Deloitte in India and also co-authored a maturity model for corporate governance considering Indian (Clause-49, MCA Guidelines) and global best practices.
Dipak Ghose is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) and a Masters in Commerce from the University of Calcutta. He started his career with Price Waterhouse and moved to the Industry thereafter. He has had a long stint with Tata Steel in various capacities in Finance, Accounts and Commercial serving in various roles including the Chief Financial Officer. He later served as Chief Audit and Risk Officer at Tata Chemicals. He also works as an independent practicing Chartered Accountant. Mr. Ghose has presented many papers on Corporate Governance, Risk Management, Internal Control and Internal Audit at international and national forums. He is a regular speaker at conferences organized by Eurofinance (event management group of The Economist), ICAI, and IIA etc. He is the course Director for the certification course on Enterprise Risk Management organized by ICAI in Mumbai. He was a former member of Eastern India Regional Council (EIRC) of ICAI and past president of the Institute of Internal Auditors of India, Mumbai Chapter and Rotary Club, Inner City, Calcutta.
Dr. C V Natraj
Dr. C.V. Natraj, currently an Advisor to the Society for Innovation and Development, IISc. is a Phd. Scholar in Chemistry from IISc Bangalore, 1976 as well as Post-Doctoral Scholar from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, 1976-1980.
Dr. Natraj possess commendable experience in leading research organizations and has held various eminent Management positions in HLL 1980-1997. He also held the positions of Research Director and Member of Management Committee, Hindustan Lever Limited from 1997-2001 and Senior Vice-president, Corporate Research, Unilever, UK 2001-2009.
Dr. Sharmila Mande
Dr. Sharmila Mande is Chief Scientist and Head of the Bio-Sciences R&D Division at Innovation Labs of Tata Consultancy Services Ltd. She has more than 30 years of research experience in Life Sciences domain. She received her PhD degree from Indian Institute of Sciences (IISc, Bangalore) and had post-doctoral experience abroad. She joined TCS in 2001 to start Life Sciences research activities.
Mr. S. Sriram
Mr. S. Sriram, currently the Vice President (Finance) & Company Secretary, Tata Industries Ltd, is a Chartered Management Accountant (UK), Cost Accountant & Company Secretary with more than 27 years post qualification experience in reputed Companies in India and abroad. He has the experience of leading the Finance function in various areas such as Corporate Finance & Treasury, Consolidation of Accounts, MIS, Financial planning and Taxation. He has played a strategic role in Mergers & Acquisitions, Divestment/Stake sale, Private equity investment transactions, Legal Documentation, Contracts & Commercial negotiations, and Initial Public Offering (IPO).
In his present role as Vice President – Finance & Company Secretary of Tata Industries Ltd., based at Mumbai Head Office, he is responsible for the Finance, Legal and Secretarial functions of the Company. He is also involved on strategy for new businesses/subsidiaries and manage existing portfolio of investments. Additionally, he is also the Ethics Counselor of Tata Industries Ltd.
Mr Sriram is on the boards of 2 other Tata companies – Tata Industrial Services (TISL) and Apex Investments (Mauritius) Holding Pvt Ltd. His previous assignment was as Vice President – Corporate Finance, Treasury, Taxation and Planning at Viom Networks Ltd, a subsidiary of Tata Teleservices Ltd, where his role was to set up the Corporate Finance and Financial Planning in the combined rapidly growing entity and raise funding of more than US$ 2 billion, apart from playing a strategic role in private equity transactions and IPO of the company. Prior to joining Viom on group transfer, he worked with Tata Teleservices Ltd., heading Treasury, Accounting, Taxation and Transaction structuring and assisted the company on 2 major investment transactions besides working as CFO of the Tower subsidiary before the merger.
Mr Sriram started his career with the Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd in 1987 and his role in subsequent assignments till he joined the Tata Group in 2004, included apart from Finance, setting up systems & processes, SAP implementation and M&A. He has a keen interest in economics and corporate governance and gives occasional lectures in those areas. His other interests are social work, running and reading.
